Gaven is an executive and journalist with over 30 years of experience in international and Australian media. Until 2021, Gaven was the Director of ABC News and led a team that transformed the national broadcaster to become Australia’s leading online and social media news service through a comprehensive strategic and cultural change program. He’d previously led the launch of the ABC News Channel and was involved in major international news start-ups and change projects including the launch on Al Jazeera English and CNN.com. He spent more than a decade as a reporter and producer on some of the most significant international and Australian news events.
